John has over 22 years of commercial real estate experience in the Washington Metropolitan Area participating in more than $20 billion in transactions. He currently works as Managing Director of US Capital Markets at Avison Young. Prior to his current position, John was Managing Director in the Washington, D.C. office of Eastdil Secured. Before that, John was a Managing Director at Jones Lang LaSalle for 17 years. He has also held positions at Cushman Realty Corporation and Spaulding & Slye. He has brokered the sale of several of the Washington region’s highest profile and most dynamic assets including the sale of the Evening Star Building, the Home Building and the Commercial National Bank Building. John has received numerous awards for his achievements in the investment sales arena. John holds a B.A. from the University of Virginia and an M.B.A. from Georgetown University. He is a member of the Greater Washington Commercial Association of Realtors (GWCAR) and the Urban Land Institute (ULI). John has been involved in the community serving on the Board of Directors of Good Shepherd Ministries serving at risk youth in Ward I for over 15 years and has served on the Washington Region’s Board of Directors for Best Buddies.
